Awesomeness TV strikes the teen angst heart strings again with this cool kid series "Trinkets". What feels like the same bubbly universe as "To All The Boys I've Loved Before", three new Portland bbys share the screen. Lately these new teen flicks on Netflix have been missing the mark musically, especially "Then Came You" feat. Maisie Williams (aka Aria Stark from GOT) and Asa Butterfield from Sex Education, which is not a Netflix OG. That movie was scored by someone who clearly wasn't watching the movie because every great scene was ruined completely with some out of place indie pop song.
"Trinkets", which you may or may not have watched already is the latest June summer show and has the most unexpectedly pleasant soundtrack. The playlist below is missing a couple tunes but for the most part you get what is being served in the show. Artists like Metric, The xx, Snail Mail, Princess Nokia, boygenius, Toro y Moi, and more flood the screen at just the right times. It's a real vibe & if I had to bet, the team at Netflix in charge of the music for this show did their due research. We girls love a solid femme driven soundtrack. It feels like a breath of fresh air.
