Today Taylor Swift has surprised fans with the announce and track list of her 8th studio album.
According to Taylor Swift folklore will have 16 songs on the standard edition, but the physical deluxe editions will include a bonus track “the lakes.” Since COVID broke down the music industry and the world, Taylor Swift has had to cancel huge shows. She was slated to be the first female artist to open up SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles with a monumental festival around Lover. During her time in quarantine she buckled back down in the studio and has emerged with a collection of new songs that will make up her latest album folklore.

Special features on the album will include the likes of Bon Iver, Aaron Dessner of the National, and Jack Antonoff. Swift said Dessner co-wrote or produced 11 of the 16 songs, while Bon Iver co-wrote some songs and sang on the record as well. Jack Antonoff seemed to be around for emotional support.
In addition to the album release at midnight, Swift will also be releasing a new music video for her track "cardigan." What makes this video so unique is the fact that it was done in a socially distanced manor. Taylor Swift tweeted that the shoot was “overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling.”
