Run The Jewels 4 Out Now

Updated: Jun 23, 2020

Killer Mike and el-p dropped RTJ4 for the people.

Today at 12pm RTJ4 the highly anticipated fourth album came out earlier than anticipated in response to the protests against the violent murder of George Floyd. Their goal was to stand with the people who are against these racists and unjust acts of violence and give them something encouraging to listen to.

To make things even more proactive, they also decided to release the album as a free download and are encouraging people donate to the National Lawyers Guild Mass Defense Program, which provides legal support for political protesters, activists, and movements for social change. They also created a separate page that lists out a number of alternative action programs fans can choose to donate towards.

Recently Killer Mike bravely stood in front of cameras on live television to share his progressive and heart-wrenching message for viewers in Atlanta and beyond. Watching the news clip brings tears to your eyes and leaves you angry and wanting to do something. Here is one of many important messages Killer Mike shared that day.

"I am duty bound to say - that is is your duty not to burn your own house down for anger with an enemy. It is your duty to fortify your own house, so you that may be a house of refuge in times of organization. And now is the time to plot, plan, strategize, organize, and mobilize."

Having taken this album for a couple spins already I can assure you that it is an amazing piece of work that will amplify the message protesters have had this entire time. Coming from Run The Jewels makes it even more special. Fuck Police Brutality, Fuck the system, Kill your masters.

See below for the track list with features from the greats like Mavis Staples, 2 Chainz, Pharrell Williams and more.
