The new Netflix series will document the Tejano singer's life in a dramatic two part series starting December 4th.

With the actual documentation of her life, plus a feature film starring Jennifer Lopez, this latest Netflix series has a lot to live up to. Yesterday press photos and the official trailer for Selena: The Series were released and gave fans a more in depth view of what is yet to come. The trailer opens up with Spanish and English subtitles narrating a voice over while the star is walking up to her spot on center stage. You catch glimpses of her beaded boots and hourglass figure as she begins to belt the classic "Como La Flor" ballad. It is chill inducing and leaves the next generation of her fans wanting more.
16 Days before her 24th birthday the singer was shot and killed by her manager on March 31st, 1995. She was on the brink of international fame and was just reaching her Latinx audience in the states. 25 years later her spirit is still very much alive thanks to her beloved family and fans. Since her death there has been everything from makeup lines, DJ parties, concerts, clothing lines, drag shows, and albums dedicated to her world plus so much more. A true Selena fan simply cannot sit still when they are at a party and the DJ starts to spin one of her classic songs.

In 1997, young actress Jennifer Lopez was chosen to portray the late singer in a biography drama directed and written by Gregory Nava. It is through this movies that a newer generation gets the entire scope of the legacy while the current fans get an homage dedicated to their beloved late artist. Now her legacy is being reinvigorated for the younger side of the Gen Z audience thanks to Netflix, Jaime Dávila, Rico Martinez, Hiromi Kamata and Suzette Quintanilla, Selena's sister and former band mate, who are among the executive producers. The new series will feature the actress Christian Serratos, best known for her role in "The Walking Dead."
Until December we will definitely be thriving off Selena's music and movie at least until her newest Netflix series hits the stream on December 4th, 2020.
